House washing in Hamilton isn't generally quite as challenging as the picture above - but it's getting there!
One of the many really fantastic things about Hamilton is how green the city is. If you manage to gain a bit of elevation and gaze across the city, the number of trees in our city is really quite remarkable. With a full 8% of the city's area occupied by forested gullies and with nearly every street, road, residential and commercial property planted out with trees to varying degrees, it makes for a fantastic city environment for us all to enjoy.
That's the good green; something I'm seeing a lot of at the moment is the slightly less welcome variety of green. We're all in the process of disappearing under a blanket of moss and algae! Apart from a handful of frosty starts, the late autumn and early winter have, for the most part, been warm and wet. And with warm, wet weather comes moss, mould and algae - and all three of those household afflictions are hitting us like a trident right now.
Moss, mould and algae are insidious agents of attack on the average kiwi home. Moss traps water like a sponge. If you can imagine taping a thick kitchen sponge to your house and keeping it constantly soaked with water, that's a good representation of how moss acts on your house and property. If it's adhering to roofs, timber surfaces or even brick mortar lines, it's doing harm.
Algae serves as a growing medium for moss. If you're able to rid your home of it, the moss never gets a chance to grab hold.
Mould: the bete noire of asthmatics and allergy sufferers. Mould is really prevalent this winter and we're clearing it away from homes in all corners of the city. If you have a look around shower vents, bathroom and kitchen windows and in the dark internal corners of your house exterior, you'll probably see either a greyish shadow or possibly even a thick black accrual. That's mould. Don't be hard on yourself if you find mould - it's just the warm, damp air at work and your home is most definitely not a case in isolation.
Winter is a great time to wash your house and be rid of winter build-ups. Green Agenda understands the problems, we have the right solutions and we're by far the safest and softest house washing company in operation. We'll clean away the detritus of winter and help you keep your home safe and beautiful for another season.
